Rick Weldon
Rick’s fascination with all things wine goes back over 30 years and grew in inquisitiveness and intensity as time progressed. Realizing that a more formal and in-depth level of education in wine was necessary, he enrolled in the CAPS program in 2018 and completed it in 2021 (graduating in 2022). Wanting to remain engaged with the CAPS(A) organization, the day he graduated he volunteered for the Board as a member of the Education committee. Rick has travelled to Italy, Spain, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia and other less obvious locations, in pursuit of “local” knowledge of wines (yes, Thai Chenin Blanc does pair well with Thai food) and also spends time striving to infect others with his enthusiasm for wine in both a global sense and specifically here at home with Nova Scotia products.
